Future Business Leaders of America
As a Senior, I joined FBLA in hopes of finding something that will occupy me.The events I will compete in are Marketing and Business Calculations and hopefully place into the state competition. Key Club
Key Club shares the importance of helping the community within the club and that's something I really enjoy. I attended some meetings my Junior year but wasn't considered a member. I officially joined my Senior year and I hope to take in these volunteerism traits from the club and aspire as a humanistic person from them. Class Club of 2017
I was in the class club in both San Fernando High School and in Lindsay High School. When I first moved to LHS I figured that if I joined this club, then I'll find friends. I've been a member of this club since Sophomore year. |
Spanish Honors Society
When I heard the goal of this society I knew I wanted to join. Spreading the Spanish culture is important to me because I feel like it's slowly dying with each generation. I joined as a Senior and I hope to get the Spanish Honors Society cord at graduation to prove to my parents that my Spanish traits will never die. Certified Nursing Assistant
Becoming a Nursing Assistant is a great way in getting experience in the medical field. Although this class is a part of a different Pathway, I was able to take it along with the students as a PM class with Mr. Holdridge. In this class, we first learn the basics of resident care from the textbooks along with some hands on work with a mannequin then we go onto the clinical part and get real experience with residents from Lindsay Gardens. We're expected to take the Board Exam around May, 2017 and become certified nursing assistants. |
Drama Club
I joined Drama Club as a Senior and take the position of Secretary. In this club we allow students to be a part of play productions in the Community Theatre and organize different school productions as well. Adventure Club
I would always go to the Adventure Club meetings with my friends but wasnt considered a real member until i joined during Senior year. This club centers on providing fun adventures for it's members as well as opportunities to be involved in school events. SFHS Puente Program
I joined the Puente Program in my Freshman year back in San Fernando High School. This program took place as an English class with a Teacher that I would've had all four years of high school. Mostly every student in this program had the same schedules every year. This program's goal was to create a sense of community and family between every single student and the Teacher. Along with Project Grad LA, this program helped the students to strive in every class and set a path towards college. Internship at China's Alley
My junior year, i had the chance to join the internship program. Since I am in the Food Service pathway, I was able to intern at the local restaurant China's Alley. Here i got hands on experience on working at a restaurant and also saw how a restaurant is ran from the inside. Although it was an unpaid internship, it was a great experience and i learned a lot about all aspects of running a restaurant from the serving to the management. This is also where my interest in business management started and where I started considering a major in Business. |
Book Club
I've always had a hidden passion in reading but I've never been able to express it. I joined Book Club as a Senior to allow myself to read more and gain more knowledge of words within the readings. We'll be reading series as a group and end each book with the movie to see how much of the book was changed or left out. Prom Committee 2016
I was a part of Prom Committee as a member of the 2017 Class Club. We were in charge of coming up with ideas for the Class of 2016's prom. We also had to make all of the decorations and go decorate the place where prom took place. Project Grad Los Angeles
Throughout middle school back in Los Angeles, i was a part of Project Grad LA. I was a member of this program until i moved to LHS. The goal of this program was to help the students set a path straight to Graduation and further on to college... Dance Team
I was a part of the dance team back in SFHS during my Freshman year. Although the Team was more like a Club at that time, we still performed in rallys and in the Fall and Spring Talent Show. In this team, I learned that i shouldn't be shy out in front of people and I was starting to become confident in being in a big group of people. Even though that went away when i moved to LHS, I can still say that I gained a sense of leadership by helping out the other dancers when they couldn't get the routines down. This was probably one of the funnest Club/Team I've ever joined. |
