Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Melanie Pena, I'm a student at Lindsay High School, and I'll be graduating with the Class of 2017. I'm originally from Los Angeles, but I moved to Lindsay when I was 15 years old and in my Sophomore Year of high school. It was a huge challenge getting accustomed to LHS and their school system, but I can finally say that I've accepted this school and moved on from what I left behind in LA. I made it my personal goal to accept this school and even if it took two years to do so, I can finally see myself walking down the stage on graduation day with my new friends.

I come from a Mexican-American family of 6 including myself. I live with both of my parents, my older brother and his wife and daughter, my younger brother, and my younger sister. My parents risked there life to be in this country for my siblings and I, and I plan to take full advantage of the chance at a better life they gave us and make them and the rest of my family proud.
I have many short and long term goals that I plan to make happen throughout high school and college. My main long term goals are to become a Family Physician, have my own practice somewhere in the Central Valley, and help the people who have no way of paying for health insurance for themselves nor their children as well as anyone with different socio-economic statuses. The road to that goal is going to be one full of bumps and pot holes, but the outcome of it will be worth it since I will be doing something I enjoy doing for the benefit of others. But first, I have to manage my time around getting my senior year done and over with. I hope this website will show you the path that took me to where I am today.
